Description
Example: Bent legs on a FF step out. What causes this to occur? A coach most likely will turn to the connection from the athlete’s brain to their muscles, “Keep your legs tight”. Rather the cause most likely is a tight hamstring which may force the athlete to involuntarily bend the leg.
Through the analysis of each skill, it is easier to see how the parts work together, what strength or flexibility is required to perform each section. In our example, the step down of the FF step out shows the hamstring plays a large part of the overall skill at the end. The coach gives the athlete flexibility drills to address the hamstring BEFORE observing the error of bent leg(s).
Masters of Sport has provided four (4) separate worksheets for master analysis of skills being performed with your athletes.
